Wacky Wedding Proposals

Young men will feel the mounting pressure of coming up with fresh ideas of how to propose to their loved ones. Gone are the days when getting down on bended knee in a fancy restaurant will cut it. Dominic Coleman, owner of Sydney Harbour Escapes, recalls a recent proposal which took place aboard one of his self-drive vessels. “We could tell from his first phone call that John was eager to impress…to create a story for the grandchildren! John had booked a morning breakfast at a harbourside café, followed by a bridge-climb and was looking for the best place possible to pop the question. Where better than on Sydney Harbour? By the time the couple arrived at Rose Bay, we had their boat ready to go with a scrumptious seafood picnic basket and bubbly on board. We knew it had all gone to plan when we saw the huge grin on his then-fiance’s face with a ring on her finger. The marina was crowded with a huge welcome-party consisting entirely of his fiance’s Italian family!”
